A Paulden man will spend two decades in prison for sex crimes against a child.
On Monday, Yavapai County Attorney Dennis McGrane announced that 25-year-old Darrell Ray Lavery, also known as Darrell Ray Bragg Junior, was sentenced to 20 years behind bars by Superior Court Judge Krista Carman.
Lavery will also serve five consecutive lifetime probation terms as a registered sex offender.
He had earlier pleaded guilty to multiple counts including sexual conduct with a minor and luring a minor for sexual exploitation — all classified as dangerous crimes against children.
Investigators say in 2020, Lavery gave alcohol to a 14-year-old girl and committed sexual offenses against her in a local hotel. Authorities also discovered jail calls where Lavery discussed the child’s age and planned further abuse.
He was sentenced yesterday.
