PHS Girls T&F Wins State Championship; BMHS & CVHS Have Top 10 Individual Finishes

Prescott High School will have to make room in its gymnasium for a new championship banner. At the Division III state track and field meet Saturday, the Lady Badgers captured the state title. Standout performances were the girls 4×100 and 4×400 relays of Wiley Monnett, Aubrey Kitahata, Kenzie Blanchard, and Violet Williams, who took first in both events. Williams was also crowned state champ in the 200 meter dash and 800 meter run. Blanchard won the state championship in the 300 meter hurdles, and Rylee Hobson was state champ in the javelin.

Top performances for the Prescott boys included Luke Mason, third in the javelin, and KJ Greenfield, fourth in the long jump.

For Bradshaw Mountain, Kayden Espinosa was fifth in the boys 110 hurdles; the boys 4×100 relay of Andrew Van Dell, Will Smith, Damian Espinosa, and Ashton Lindsay finished seventh, and Sarah Dorsey was eighth in the girls shot put.

In Division IV, for Chino Valley, the girls 4×800 relay of Eliana and Maddie Metz, Carlee Murphy, and Zoi Nagel placed fourth; Michael Colasuonno was fourth in the boys pole vault, and Eliana Metz was fifth in the girls 3,200 meter run.
