Former YC Softball Players Put up Solid Numbers at 4-Year Schools

Some former Yavapai College softball players have been making solid contributions to their new teams. Torrie Au finished her first season with Cal State Dominguez Hills by hitting .285 with 25 RBIs, nine doubles, 21 runs scored, a .339 slugging percentage, and a .346 on-base percentage.

Two ex-Lady Riders played for Grand Canyon University. Lovey Kapa’a batted .264 with five home runs, 17 RBIs, five doubles, a triple, eight runs scored, a .569 slugging percentage, and a .391 on-base percentage. “The Wecking Ball” Mia Weckel had a .351 average with 22 RBIs, 12 doubles, a triple, 48 runs scored, nine stolen bases, a .442 slugging percentage, and a .423 on-base percentage.

Over at Concordia University-Irvine, Kayla “Jolly” Rodgers hit .399 with nine homers, 40 RBIs, 12 doubles, six triples, 53 runs scored, and 20 stolen bases. She also made the All-PacWest First Team and was named the conference Newcomer of the Year.
