A Cottonwood man was hit with numerous charges for leading police on a high-speed chase on Highway 260. According to the Camp Verde Marshal’s Office, the incident occurred Monday evening. Forty-year-old Colby Jacquez was reportedly driving in excess of 100 miles per hour, swerving through traffic, and nearly caused several head-on collisions.
When deputies tried to stop Jacquez, he allegedly rammed a police car and continued driving until he crashed in the area of Verde Lakes. Jacquez was hit with numerous charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault on a peace officer, criminal damage, and reckless driving.
No officers or innocent drivers were injured during this incident.
