Water levels across Yavapai County are running low. That’s according to the County Flood Control District.
Upper and Lower Goldwater Lakes are showing discharge readings of -7 and -6 feet, while Watson Lake is down to -13 feet.
Those negative numbers don’t mean the lakes are empty – they mean water levels are below the point where it would normally flow out. Right now, there is no outflow, likely due to evaporation and lack of inflow.
Other lakes like Fain Lake and Centennial Park Pond are holding steady at zero, with no current discharge.
With the monsoon officially underway, officials are watching both flooding risks and long-term drought signs.
