Pets Rescued from Early Morning Fire in Chino Valley

Crews from Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority and the Prescott Fire Department responded to a house fire just after 2:30 Friday morning near Spruce Road and Cedar Heights Road in Chino Valley.

The fire started in a detached garage and quickly spread to a nearby double-wide mobile home. The resident was able to call 911 and escape safely with one dog before firefighters arrived. Crews worked quickly to knock down the flames and were able to rescue two more dogs and a cat from inside the home. One of the dogs was treated on scene for smoke inhalation using a pet oxygen mask (known as a Fido bag) and is stable, along with the other animals.

No injuries were reported among residents or emergency personnel. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
