Prescott Valley Town Council has approved a general plan amendment and zoning change to allow 48 new homes on a nearly 24-acre parcel in Pronghorn Ranch. The land was re-acquired by Antelope Village LLC after Humboldt Unified School District decided not to build on the site.
The amendment changes the land’s designation from public/quasi-public to low-density residential, clearing the way for single-family homes north of Park View Drive and east of Antelope Meadows Drive.
The decision followed a public hearing where neighbors raised concerns about traffic, drainage, and views. The Planning and Zoning Commission had previously approved the plan with conditions, including paved emergency access and compliance with fire and utility standards.
The Town Council voted 6–1 in favor, with Councilmember Kenneth Freund being the only opposing vote. With council’s approval, the project, known as Unit 21, can now move forward under the town’s updated general plan.
