Yavapai County Seniors Reminded to Apply for Property Value Freeze by Sept 2nd

The Yavapai County Assessor’s Office is reminding senior homeowners to apply for the Senior Property Valuation Protection Option — commonly called the “senior freeze” — before the September 2nd deadline.

The program locks in the limited property value of a primary residence for three years, helping eligible seniors stabilize their taxable home value, though it does not freeze the tax bill itself.

To qualify, at least one homeowner must be sixty-five or older, live in the home most of the year, and meet income limits — currently $46,416 for one owner.
Yavapai County Assessor Judd Simmons says the program offers “peace of mind” against rising property valuations.

Applications, along with proof of age, residency, and income, must be submitted by September 2nd to the Assessor’s Office in person, by mail, or email.
