Charter schools and school districts in Yavapai County that were expecting federal grant dollars may not be getting them for a while. The State Department of Education has alerted Arizona schools that the U.S. Education Department has put a pause on certain federal grants.
The feds did not issue grant award notifications for a limited number of programs on July 1st prior to completing their review of federal awards. This means Arizona cannot access these federal monies for the time being.
The State Education Department is taking steps to guide districts and charters in this matter.
