They spent the Independence Day holiday handing out a bunch of tickets and making a few arrests. The Chino Valley Police Department hosted a DUI enforcement operation during the July Fourth weekend as part of a Tri-City Task Force initiative to combat impaired driving.
The multi-agency effort ran from July 3rd through the 5th and included Prescott and Prescott Valley Police Departments, the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, and Arizona DPS.
Officers conducted 148 traffic stops, issuing 35 civil speeding tickets, 3 criminal speeding citations, and 66 other citations. There were also five misdemeanor DUI arrests, two extreme DUI arrests, one aggravated DUI arrest, and four DUI-drug arrests. Four other arrests were for unrelated offenses.
The operation was supported by the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety.
