The Juniper Fire is now 90% contained as crews continue monitoring and mopping up hot spots south of Horse Thief Basin. The lightning-caused fire has burned across Bureau of Land Management, Arizona State Trust, and Prescott National Forest lands.
Fire crews used a drone to scan the area for remaining heat – and found very little. With fire activity low, command is officially transitioning back to the Bureau of Land Management.
Drivers should stay alert on I-17, where fire traffic is expected. Stage 2 fire restrictions are still in place for BLM and State Trust lands. Prescott National Forest is still under Stage 1 restrictions.
