Students and teachers in both the Prescott Unified School District and the Humboldt Unified School District return to school this Thursday. For residents in the Prescott area, this means increased traffic, juvenile pedestrians, juvenile cyclists, and lowered speed limits in school zones.
Prescott Valley Police Department Public Information Officer Jody Mullins tells The News:
Mullins reports that this month, as part of the department’s traffic education and enforcement plan, officers will make a pointed focus on school-related traffic violations, such as those relating to crosswalks, cycling, and school buses.
She also says these actions are intended to educate drivers on Arizona state laws, to prevent similar accidents to those seen over the last year.
