Plenty of players are back for their sophomore seasons with the Yavapai College women’s soccer team. This includes four players who received All-Region honors last season.
Talon Bennett was the Region One Goalkeeper of the Year with 69 saves and a 0.53 goals against average. Keira Campbell made the All-Region First Team, scoring four goals. Sophia Fottrell and Reagan Peterson both made the All-Region Second Team, with Fottrell recording four goals and two assists.
Other key returners include defender Mia Howser, Jill Young, who registered two goals and three assists, Gracey Fowlkes, who tallied two goals and an assist, and Morgan McLane, who started nine of the 13 games she appeared in.
YC also has a local newcomer to the team this year, former Chino Valley player Mari Holladay.
The Lady Riders begin the season August 21st at the Snow College Invitational.
