Former BMHS Baseball Player Ben Diggins to be Inducted into UofA Hall of Fame

The U of A announced its Hall of Fame class for 2025, and one of them is a product of Bradshaw Mountain High School. Ben Diggins is one of seven individual former Wildcats to receive the honor.

Diggins played for the Bears during the late 1990s and was named the 1998 Gatorade Player of the Year for Arizona. He was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the first round of that year’s Major League Baseball Draft, but elected to play for the U of A instead. He made the All-American Freshmen Team in 1999, then in 2000 went 10-4 with 127 strikeouts and was named to the All-American First Team.

He was drafted again in the first round, this time by the Los Angeles Dodgers. Diggins was traded to Milwaukee in 2002 and made his Major League debut on September 2nd of that year. He appeared in five games for the Brewers before returning to the minors. His professional career ended in 2005.

The induction ceremony takes place November 21st.
