Rimrock Man Guilty of Arson & Fraud for Burning Down Own House

A Yavapai County jury has found 46-year-old Cheston Louis Trammel of Rimrock guilty of arson and fraudulent schemes.

In October of 2022, Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office detectives found the fire at Trammel’s home was intentionally set, uncovering evidence that Trammel was facing foreclosure and had talked about making an insurance claim.

Yavapai County Attorney Dennis McGrane emphasized that insurance fraud and arson will be vigorously prosecuted, calling such acts a danger to first responders and a burden on taxpayers.

Trammel faces up to 15 and a half years in prison. Sentencing is set for September 29th.
