In light of the recent wildfire in Kirkland and the one burning near Sedona, it’s important for everyone to remember the Prescott area is still under Stage One fire restrictions. This means campfires, cooking fires, and warming fires are prohibited outside of designated areas.
Smoking is also restricted to inside buildings and vehicles. The use of fireworks and model rockets is also prohibited, as well as recreational shooting.
If you have not done so already, you should clear excess brush and yard debris from around your property to create defensible space.
The fire danger in the Prescott National Forest is extreme.
