The week will start out dry, but it will get wet by the weekend. That’s what the weather looks like for the Prescott area this week.
According to the National Weather Service, no rain is in the forecast today or tomorrow. As we get closer to the weekend, the chances for showers and thunderstorms will be between 40 to 60 percent. Even with the rain, daytime highs will be in the 90s all week.
Since monsoon storms can lead to flooding, it’s a good idea to get sandbags to protect your property. You can pick them up at any fire station in Prescott, Prescott Valley, Chino Valley, and Mayer. They are also available at the Yavapai County Public Works Yard on Commerce Drive in Prescott. While the sandbags are free, you will have to fill them yourself.
