Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a deadly two-vehicle collision that occurred Saturday afternoon on Iron Springs Road. The crash happened around 4:30 p.m. between Kirkland Junction and Skull Valley. Investigators say a car crossed into oncoming traffic for unknown reasons, slid sideways, and collided with a pickup truck.
The driver of the car, a lone adult male, was pronounced dead at the scene. The pickup’s driver and passenger suffered minor injuries. Authorities have not yet released the name of the deceased, pending notification of next of kin.
Iron Springs Road was closed for several hours Saturday and reopened around 9 p.m. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
