A close one and two blowouts. That’s how it went for the Chino Valley boys soccer team in their first three games of the Chino Cup Tournament. The Cougars began the proceedings with a 3-1 victory over Williams Friday, followed by a 6-0 rout of Ash Fork. Chino began Saturday with another lopsided game as they got the better of Williams 7-0. That set up the championship game with St. John’s, but the Cougars fell in that one 6-1.
Chino Valley coach Larry Marrs tells The News:
Giovanni Millan scored five goals in the tournament. Next up for Chino Valley, they host Basis Flagstaff on Thursday.
