No Huge Wildfires in Tri-City Area This Summer

While other parts of the state saw major wildfires during the summer – including the 145,000-acre Dragon Bravo Fire at the Grand Canyon – the Tri-City area got through the summer without any large wildfires.

The biggest wildfire in Yavapai County over the summer was in Kirkland, 30 miles west of Prescott. That burned more than 900 acres and was started by a man driving on a blown out tire, resulting in sparks from the rim igniting the roadside vegetation.
