The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the arrest of 19-year-old Alejandro Pereza-Pasos — the suspect in a vehicle-to-vehicle shooting in Cottonwood.
The incident happened on May 29th near Western Drive and Pleasant Valley, where Pereza-Pasos allegedly fired into a car occupied by an adult driver and two teens, ages 13 and 15. No one was injured, and investigators say the shooting followed a prior dispute.
Authorities located his vehicle shortly after, but Pereza-Pasos had fled. A warrant was issued for his arrest on three counts of aggravated assault and misconduct with weapons.
In a joint effort involving state, county, and Mexican authorities, Pereza-Pasos — a U.S. citizen — was recently located in Mexico and taken into custody.
He is now awaiting extradition to Yavapai County to face charges.
