Two hikers stranded by a suddenly rising river in Badger Springs were airlifted to safety last Friday.
Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Paul Wick tells The News:
Before the airlift, rescuers threw a bag containing a radio and supplies to the hikers, confirming they were uninjured. The helicopter crew landed nearby, escorted the pair to the aircraft, and flew them out.
No injuries were reported.
Officials remind outdoor enthusiasts that waterways can turn dangerous quickly—especially during storms. Hikers are urged to be prepared for changing weather conditions.
