YC Soccer Splits with Southern NV

Their last three games produced three losses and just one goal, so the Yavapai College women’s soccer team was in dire need of a “W” to right the ship. Sophia Fottrell got the ball rolling with a goal 20 minutes into the first half of Tuesday’s game versus Southern Nevada. But that lead lasted just a couple of minutes before the Lady Coyotes got the equalizer. The second half, however, belonged to the Lady Riders as they registered three unanswered goals for the 4-1 win.

Fottrell and Nataly Arangure both ended the night with two goals and one assist. Talon Bennett made nine saves. Yavapai is now 5-5-1 on the season.

It was a different story for the Y-C men as they got shut out by Southern Nevada 2-0 Tuesday. The Roughriders fall to 2-5-1 on the season.
