Chino Valley PD Gets State Money to Help with Traffic Enforcement

The Chino Valley Police Department has some extra funds to combat dangerous driving on local roads. The department received a $14,000 grant from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety for fiscal year 2026. The funds will cover officer overtime for special traffic enforcement operations.

$5,600 will target DUI and impaired driving enforcement to remove dangerous drivers from the roads and prevent life-threatening crashes. $8,400 of the grant will support the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program, focused on stopping speeding, distracted driving, and other dangerous behaviors.

The department will also participate in multi-agency task force operations during holidays and high-traffic times.

Police officials say the grant will help promote safer roads and greater public awareness.
