Prescribed burns are scheduled to take place near Walker Road and Lynx Lake starting Sunday and running through October 26th. The Ranch/Walker Prescribed Burn covers areas near Highway 69, southeast of Prescott, and north of Lynx Lake. Ignitions are expected to last three to four days, with crews monitoring hotspots afterward.
Hikers should avoid trails in the area, including Ranch Trail 62, Homestead Trail 305, and Lynx Ruin Trail 301. Drivers are urged to use extra caution on Walker Road between Highway 69 and the Lynx Lake Recreation Area, as firefighters and equipment may be near the road.
The prescribed burn helps reduce wildfire risk and promotes forest health.
