They started the regular season strong, and they ended it strong. The Prescott badminton team closed out its regular season schedule Tuesday with a home match against Greenway. As with most of their matches, the number three ranked Lady Badgers swept number six Greenway 9-0.
None of the matches went to a third set tiebreaker, but there were some pretty spirited contests. Annabelle Courtney won her number one singles match 21-16 and 21-12. Lucy Townsend won her number four singles match 21-14 and 24-22. At number five singles, Ari Jones got the 21-19 and 21-13 win, and Natalie Major won her number six singles match 21-18 and 21-15.
Prescott finishes the regular season with a 14-0 overall record, with 12 of those wins 9-0 sweeps. The Lady Badgers take part in the state singles and doubles tournaments at Independence High School Friday and Saturday.
