A new solar-powered crosswalk has been installed on Jasper Parkway near the Glassford Summit Trailhead in an effort to improve pedestrian safety.
This is the first of three crosswalks in high-traffic areas throughout the town. A second one is being installed on Skoog Boulevard between the Arizona Agribusiness and Equine Center and the Civic Center. Another will be installed November 10th at the intersection of Nace Lane and Robert Road.
The new systems feature enhanced lighting powered by solar energy. When crossing, pedestrians should press the button to activate the flashing lights. Drivers are urged to slow down and use extra caution when lights are flashing.
