Prescott FD Urges Folks Make Fall Fire Prevention Preparations

The nights are getting colder in the Tri-City area, and that means more people are doing what they can to keep their homes warm. Officials with the Prescott Fire Department want to make sure you do that safely.

They recommend keeping space heaters at least three feet from anything flammable. You should also inspect fireplaces, wood stoves, and chimneys before using them. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors should be tested monthly.

Finally, do not store flammable liquids near heat sources.
