Nine months ago, the Prescott boys basketball team battled St. Mary’s in the final four of state, coming up six points short of a trip to the state championship game. Monday was a rematch for the two sides. This time, the game was not that close. Led by seven-foot-tall Duke commit Cam Williams, the Knights dealt with the Badgers 76-43.
Prescott coach Travis Stedman said St. Mary’s is the best team they will play all year.
Pedro Jimenez led the Badgers in scoring with 13 points. Jake Diener put up five points and eight rebounds. Chase Stedman registered four points, five assists, and six steals.
Prescott is now 1-4 on the season. Their first home game is Thursday versus Deer Valley. The Badgers will also be at home again next Monday when they take on Arcadia.
