PHS Sports Weekend Recap

Five games in three days — that’s what the Prescott girls basketball team had on its plate at the Salpointe Catholic Cactus Clash in Tucson. The tournament opener Thursday proved harsh for the Lady Badgers as they got topped by Salpointe Catholic 58-39. Prescott got back on track Friday when they faced Pinnacle from the 6A conference. The two squads had to settle matters in overtime, with the Lady Pioneers getting by the Lady Badgers 57-54.

After that, Prescott took care of business in their remaining three games, beating Catalina Foothills 51-37, Nogales 52-37, and Casteel 51-33. Addie Prisciandaro averaged 22 points per game and hit seven threes in the Pinnacle game. Bella Abt averaged 14 points per game.

In other tournament action involving Prescott from the past weekend, the boys soccer team had two losses and two ties at the Ben Franklin Classic.

At the Peaks Wrestling Invitational, Gianna May was first in her weight class for the girls, and River Vinett placed third for the boys.
