ERAU Women’s Soccer Players Earn Big Awards

In a season where they went 20-1-3 and made it to the Final Four of the national tournament, it’s no surprise several players from the Embry-Riddle women’s soccer team picked up major honors.

Five were named to the United Soccer Coaches All-West Region team. Jamie Brandon powered the offense, recording 21 goals and eleven assists. The other Jamie, Jamie “Beast In” Black, notched 14 goals and four assists. Molly Newlin, who was also named the GSAC Freshman of the Year, posted six goals and six assists in her first season on the collegiate pitch. Samantha Wright was the Lady Eagles’ top ball distributor with 15 assists on the season, along with seven goals. Natalia Sepulveda did a stellar job on defense.

In addition, Brandon and Sepulveda were both named to the All-National Tournament Team. “Brando” registered four goals during the tournament, while Sepulveda anchored a defense that allowed two goals in the first three games.
