Yavapai Silent Witness is gearing up for its Winter Catch-22 program, spotlighting 22 wanted fugitives with $1,000 rewards for anonymous tips leading to their arrest.
Starting December 22nd, Yavapai Silent Witness, will feature one fugitive per day for 22 days. Silent Witness Director Walt Miller coordinates with law enforcement across the county to select cases ranging from probation violations to serious offenses like drugs, assaults, and theft.
A key strength of the program is total anonymity for tipsters — no names, no phone numbers, no IP addresses are ever collected. Miller says this is deliberate. By not gathering identifying information, Silent Witness ensures it has nothing to hand over if a court or investigator ever demands it, protecting tipsters from subpoenas or having to testify.
Since 1997, Catch-22 has helped capture over 130 fugitives and paid out more than $65,000 in rewards. Tips can be submitted anonymously at 1-800-932-3232 or online at yavapaisw.com.
Miller calls it an essential community tool for safer streets.
Day One of Catch-22 starts on December 22nd. KYCA will provide details for a new fugitive each day.
