After struggling during the final month of 2025, the Prescott boys basketball team hoped for a fresh start in 2026. They got exactly that as they hit the court on New Year’s Day to begin their run in the Nike Tournament of Champions in the Valley.
They faced Gilbert Christian, and both teams stayed close throughout the game. In the end, it was the Badgers who got the 65-56 win. Drew Jolley came close to a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds. Caden Lozen notched 12 points. Chase Stedman recorded eleven points and seven assists. Pierce Tenney garnered ten points.
Prescott is back at it today when they play Eastmark. The Nike Tournament of Champions wraps up on Saturday. After that, the Badgers go on a four-game road swing starting next Tuesday at Coconino. Next Thursday, Prescott is at Bradshaw Mountain.
