Units from the Copper Canyon Fire and Medical District took part in a swift water rescue Saturday afternoon in the Verde Valley. A truck had become partially submerged in fast-moving water, trapping two people on the vehicle’s roof. Responders arrived quickly and rescued both individuals without injury.
Fire officials say the incident serves as a reminder about the dangers of flooded roads. They warn even a small amount of moving water can carry a vehicle away.
With unpredictable water levels across the region, drivers are urged to stay alert and never enter flooded washes or low-water crossings.
