Two Arrested after High Speed Chase in Cottonwood

Cottonwood Police arrested an 18-year-old suspect after a high-speed chase through the city on Wednesday morning.

Officers were alerted to a stolen green Dodge Ram entering Cottonwood around 11:45 a.m. When they attempted to stop the truck on South Main Street, the driver fled—nearly striking an officer deploying stop sticks and colliding with a police vehicle.

The pursuit ended near Clarkdale Parkway after officers successfully disabled the truck. Jeremiah Trantham of Surprise was taken into custody along with a 16-year-old passenger—later confirmed as a missing person.

Trantham faces multiple felony charges, including vehicle theft, aggravated assault, and reckless driving. He is being held without bond at the Yavapai County Jail.

The stolen vehicle was recovered and returned to its owner. Police say no injuries were reported.
