They battled Odyssey Institute into overtime Saturday, but unfortunately came up short by four points. Tuesday night would be much different for the Chino Valley boys basketball team. They staked out a nice lead over Wickenburg and got the deke, 49-33.
Jack Gschweng posted 14 points for the Cougars. Luke Olson and Nick Flansaas both notched ten points. The Cougars have now won three of their last four games.
The circumstances were different for the girls game. It went down to the final seconds, but Chino Valley came up short to Wickenburg 41-39.
Annabelle Mazzella registered 14 points. Brielle Bell put up eight points. The Lady Cougars have lost six in a row since going 3-1 at the Epic Tourneys Invitational.
Chino Valley is home again tomorrow. They host Tonopah Valley.
