YC Softball Goes 2-3 at CCSN Kickoff Classic

The Yavapai College softball team saw a whole lotta action over the weekend as they played five games in the College of Southern Nevada Kick-Off Classic. It all started Friday morning when the Lady Riders faced Spoon River College but lost to the Lady Snappers 7–3. Sofia Romero drove in all three YC runs.

In their second game Friday, Yavapai held off a ninth-inning rally by North Idaho to get the 10–9 victory. Tamryn Tucker socked a three-run home run, and Ryder Wilmarth had two RBIs. In the Lady Riders’ third game Friday, they were topped by Salt Lake College 10–2. Kayley Gibb went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Saturday began with a rematch between YC and North Idaho, with the Lady Riders beating the Lady Cardinals again 10–6. Georgia Wagner-Stiles had three RBIs, and Danica Kern scored three runs. Sofi Wagner-Stiles was the winning pitcher with nine strikeouts.

Yavapai ended the classic with an 11–0 loss to Snow College.
