Chino Valley police officers responded to an automated crash alert from a cell phone last Friday around 2:30 a.m. Police officials say a black Dodge Ram 2500 was located on the roadway at the intersection of West Center Street and Reed Road.
A man identified as the driver was contacted at the scene, and a woman identified as his fiancée was found lying on the ground with serious injuries. Police say the couple was doing donuts in the intersection. The woman was seated on the window ledge of the truck recording on her cell phone when she was ejected from the vehicle. She sustained serious injuries after being struck by the truck and hitting the roadway.
The woman was airlifted to a hospital for treatment, and the man was arrested at the scene. He was booked on reckless driving, endangerment per domestic violence, aggravated assault per domestic violence, and DUI of 0.150 to 0.20. The incident remains under investigation.
