Prescott FD Adopts New Codes for Wildfires

It’s no secret the Prescott area is prone to wildfires. Officials with the Prescott Fire Department announced they will adopt the International Wildland Urban Interface Code in an effort to take proactive steps against wildfire risk. They say the updated codes focus on vegetation management, parcel hardening, ember cast issues, and scale-level community hardening.

In partnership with the Yavapai County Contractors Association, the Prescott Fire Department will hold a community engagement opportunity to inform stakeholders. It takes place February 20th from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Adult Center at 1280 East Rosser Street.
