Akkarco is voluntarily recalling Ashfiat Alharamain Energy Support after testing found the product contains undeclared tadalafil.
According to Yavapai County Community Health Services, tadalafil is an FDA-approved drug used to treat male erectile dysfunction and is not permitted in dietary supplements. Products containing the ingredient without authorization are considered unapproved new drugs, with safety and effectiveness not established.
Health officials warn the hidden ingredient could pose risks for people with underlying medical conditions or those taking certain medications. Possible side effects include cardiovascular complications, changes in blood pressure, dizziness and headaches.
The product was distributed nationwide, including through online retailers. It is sold in a glass bottle with an orange label with an expiration date of October 2028.
Consumers should stop using the product immediately and follow return or disposal instructions provided by the seller.
