A mulch pile burst into flames at the M-D-I Rock plant along Highway 169 in Dewey Sunday afternoon.
Crews from the Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority arrived quickly and contained the fire before it could spread to surrounding vegetation. Two M-D-I Rock employees assisted with suppression efforts using the company’s water tender. No injuries were reported.
CAFMA officials say the quick response and strong coordination between fire crews, company employees, and law enforcement helped bring the situation under control safely.
