YCSO, Law Enforcement Partners Pull Over 85 Drivers During Verde Valley Enforcement

The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office wrapped up a major crackdown on speeding in the Verde Valley last week.

On Wednesday morning, YCSO led a multi-agency speed enforcement detail across Cornville, Cottonwood, Camp Verde, Rimrock, and Lake Montezuma. Joined by officers from Prescott, Prescott Valley, and Chino Valley police departments — and supported by the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety — they focused heavily on Cornville Road, an area plagued by resident complaints and frequent collisions.

Despite challenging weather, the effort paid off big: in just one morning, officers conducted 85 traffic stops. That resulted in 56 civil speed citations, five criminal speed arrests, and two additional criminal arrests.

YCSO officials say this operation was a direct response to community concerns, aimed at reducing crashes and saving lives on our roadways.

Sheriff David Rhodes thanked the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety for making it happen and reminded to all drivers to slow down and drive safely.
