Their excellent play during the season got them big recognitions. Noah Gifft of the Embry-Riddle men’s basketball team was named to the All-GSAC team, while his teammate, Matur Dhal, was selected as the conference’s co-Defensive Player of the Year. Gifft, who was last season’s GSAC Freshman of the Year, was tied for second in the conference in scoring with 17.3 points per game. He also hit 74 three-pointers and recorded 146 rebounds, 55 assists, and 24 steals.
Dhal is a graduate student who transferred to Riddle from Point Loma Nazarene University. He led the conference in blocks this season with 52 while grabbing 144 rebounds. The South Sudan native also averaged 9.2 points per game.
One notable snub on the All-GSAC team from Embry-Riddle is Peter Dress. The sophomore averaged 13.3 points per game this season and pulled down 199 rebounds.
