PHS Baseball Rallies to Beat ALA-Mesa North in Season Opener

The Prescott baseball team wasted little time showing off their offensive prowess. In Thursday’s season opener at the Adam Donnenfield Tournament, the Badgers got out to a 4–1 lead over ALA Mesa North after two innings. But the Mavericks exploded for seven runs in the fourth inning to go up 8–4. Prescott, however, went on a tear in the late innings and got the 11–8 win.

Easton Shy and William Horn both had two RBIs. Travis Gates, Matt Hepperle, and Ashton Whitwell each had an RBI and two runs scored. Horn also got the win in relief. Kaden Lampe fanned eight.

Prescott is back at the Adam Donnenfield Tournament today to face Yuma. Tomorrow the Badgers finish the tournament with two games. They will take on Arcadia and Gilbert Christian. Prescott’s first home game of the season is March 6th versus Greenway.
