Phoenix Man Sentenced in Yavapai County for Sex Crimes

A Phoenix man has been sentenced to ten years in prison for luring a minor for sexual exploitation.

Fifty-six-year-old Aaron Adan Salazar was recently sentenced in Yavapai County Superior Court. Under Arizona law, the sentence must be served day for day without the possibility of early release.

The case began back in November of 2025 when Salazar contacted an online profile he believed belonged to a 14-year-old girl. Investigators say the profile was actually operated by detectives with the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities say Salazar turned the conversation to sexual topics and asked for nude photos of the girl. He even added he wished he met the girl when she was eleven because it was a “bucket list wish” for him.

Yavapai County Attorney Dennis McGrane praised sheriff David Rhodes and his detectives for stopping a predator before any real child could be harmed.
