Don’t be surprised to see smoke in certain parts of Yavapai County. Starting Monday, the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management will conduct burns around Northern Arizona. The locations include Slide Rock State Park in Sedona, Rockin’ River Ranch State Park in Camp Verde, and Dead Horse Ranch State Park in Cottonwood.
These burns are designed to get rid of vegetation piles leftover from prior fuel removal work. All state parks will be open to the public during these prescribed burns.
