Final Season for PV’s Mountain Valley Splash

Prescott Valley’s Mountain Valley Splash is gearing up for its final season in 2026, as the town prepares to replace the aging facility with a new aquatics center.

The town announced that due to costly repairs needed for outdated infrastructure, the splash pad and slide will stay closed this summer, but the main pool will remain open for lap swim, aqua aerobics, swimming lessons, and other programs. Opened in 1995, the facility has been a popular spot for cooling off, family fun, and community events over three decades.

The closure ties into plans for a modern replacement at Mountain Valley Park, potentially including year-round features like a covered pool. A citizens’ committee has recommended a bond initiative for the project, which could go before voters later this year, with construction possibly starting after the 2026 season and opening in 2028 or 2029.

Mayor Kell Palguta and town officials have been seeking input on what the community wants in the new facility, emphasizing its role in serving families and hosting events.
