A new affordable housing complex is one step closer to breaking ground in Prescott.
The City Council Tuesday voted unanimously to approve a water service agreement for Lakeview Grove — an 82-unit development proposed by Woda Cooper Companies at 31-11 Lakeview Plaza Lane, near Willow Creek Road and Mogollon Road.
The four-story building would serve residents earning between 30 and 80 percent of the area’s median income. A representative for the developer told council the city has more riding on this decision than just one project.
The Columbus, Ohio-based firm has completed 65 affordable housing projects and says it plans to keep Lakeview Grove restricted to income-qualified tenants for at least 60 years. Construction is targeted to start in 2027.
