BMHS Softball Gets a Tie & a Blowout at Cool Nights Tournament

It’s not something you see a lot in softball . . . a tie. But that’s what happened to Bradshaw Mountain in its second day at the Cool Nights Tournament at Apollo High School in Glendale. In their first game of the day, the Lady Bears faced Bishop Gorman from Las Vegas and played them to a 2-2 draw. Kodee Statler fanned 12. Michaela Sanders drove in a run.

Game two Thursday did have a winner and loser. Bradshaw Mountain scored in every inning as they derailed Maricopa 13-4. Sanders had four RBIs. Statler drove in two runs and scored four runs. Jaslene Valentine had two RBIs and two runs scored. Alexa Corey was the winning pitcher.

The Lady Bears continue in the Cool Nights Tournament tomorrow. They kick off Grand Canyon Region play on St. Patrick’s Day when they travel to Cottonwood to take on Mingus.
