Local scoreboard from the weekend, in baseball, Yavapai College dropped two of three to Arizona Western. Max Strickland fanned ten in the series finale, which the Roughriders won 8–2. Embry-Riddle dropped four games to The Master’s.
Softball, Bradshaw Mountain lost to Ironwood Ridge 9–1.
The Prescott boys volleyball team went 3–3 at the Maverick Invitational.
The Embry-Riddle women’s golf team finished sixth at the Red Rocks Invitational. Charlotte Giffin finished in 14th place.
Track and field, at the Oxy Distance Carnival, Embry-Riddle’s Carlee Murphy won her heat for the women’s 5,000-meter run. At the Brophy Invitational, Prescott’s Eli Allen was fourth in the boys shot put and Libby Hlavacek placed fourth in the girls pole vault.
Alumni update time. Former Prescott track and field athlete Violet Williams did well for the Colorado School of Mines at the NCAA Division II National Indoor Meet. She placed 17th in the long jump.
